As the storm set in,
we knew not what to do,where to go,
As each of us scattered with the winds,
doomed to part ways,
some would survive and some wouldn't,
As an anchor you came.
You held us together,
You gave us shelter,
A place of safety and warmth,
Your words soothing like a balm.
The others have done their bit,
to show their gratitude,
But I never did enough.
I'm scared its too late, afraid you will pass into the next world,
without seeing your dreams materialize.
How I wish I could have done more and done it more faster,
Through you I saw what compassion was,
you taught me courage,
you showed me the sanctity of duty,
I will cherish you my Anchor,
And forever be indebted,
