Love and its ways

Different people have different ways to show their love. It varies between cultures, age groups, transacting members, number of persons involved, occasion and what not. Every form of love expressed in unique. The common signs are hugs and kisses. And then there are a few weird ones :-

1. Through food. Grand mothers are a case in point here. They would stuff you saying how "thin" you have become when in fact you know and they definitely would know that you have already put on all the weight you should have put on in a life time/! And then there are the in laws. In India treating your son in law with extra care is an existing formality. The amount of food that lands your plate can be overwhelming. And any decline you make will be taken as you showing some kind of unhappiness/offense and so on. And so - you will be fed in one day what you should have been fed for one week!

2. Through rules. This happens when ones parents - actually father - is a protective about his ward. He will show his love for the kid through rules. This is very pertinent in countries like India and Chine where it is awkward to outright express your love for your children. You say "I love you" to your son/daughter and it gets weird and awkward. Those words are reserved for romantic partners, not for those people who have been with you for a minimum over 18 years!

3. Through lenience.  Yep - teenage sons/daughters. Get a load of this - they actually express love for their parents by taking them for granted and taking a few lenience's. Happens between a wife and husband as well - when she shops over the budget. Taking a loved one for granted and then that loved one not getting cross about it is quite a highly placed way to show ones love. Isn't that what lounve is all about - unconditional and unending..

4. Through change. A bank stated this perfectly when they said, we all change for the ones we love. The protective dad, for the sake of his son who takes him for granted may change into a less protective one.  I know of many peopls who get married become totally different people - physically and otherwise; for the better and sometimes for the worse - all for love.

5. Through gifts. Ah, how capitalism runs the world. The only way I can make you feel special is buying you that obnoxiously expensive diamond ring set in platinum (until a few years ago it was gold, but that's old school now). Maybe this was a created medium to show love - but it has caught on for sure. And then of course buying something for a loved on does go to show that she/he is on your mind and that they deserve something a little tangible to see how much they are loved.

6. Through pain. Bollywood/Kollywood and all woods have a scores of examples where the man goes through a pummeling without any resistance thought he could make the thugs fly by the flex of a finger;all for his lady love. To show how much pain he would endure just to have her love.

6. Through the wild and whacky. This contains a range of miscellaneous ways of how love is shown - ranging from winning a Chilli eating contest to murdering someone for love and everything in between. This is actually the most interesting category. Will top up this post with 10 most whacky love expressions later to finish this royally.
